Historic Northeast Snowfall

Being from Wisconsin, I was skeptical of all the talk of a big snowstorm hitting the Northeast. You see, I've learned that Connecticut, and generally New England, tends to over exagerate weather.  The Governor has shut down the state (yes, state) many a times before a single snowflake has even hit the ground.  Well, the snow did come yesterday after all.
In October.
We have snow...
and it stuck.
It didn't melt.
Yet.

Most of the leaves are still on the trees so the heavy snow has caused many big branches and trees to fall.  After hurricane Irene and this early snowfall this year I think only the strong are still standing.

I realized yesterday that I completely missed Fall.  And by that I mean I didn't even realize it has come and gone.  I'm so busy with my internship, work, and classes this semester I am going all day and come home after dark.
Sad.
But....
When is the last time you made a snowman in October?

Another Day, Another Sunset

Tonight's sunset was seen in Norwich, CT.

I just discovered this project and can't get enough of it.
Happy Tuesday!

Have Hope

I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out-plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.

Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular

We went to the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Roger Williams Zoo and enjoyed thousands of carved pumpkins.  There are some amazingly talented pumpkin carvers out there.

This year I painted our pumpkin and didn't even venture to carve it.  Perhaps someday mine will turn out like one of these.

***UPDATE*** See our visit in 2013 here.

Have Hope

Today I spoke with:

a woman haunted by her past choices
a man who tragically lost his cousin
a mother who's house is in foreclosure
a daughter who's mother is sick
a student trapped in their horrible environment
and one thing was on my heart for all of them:

Two reasons why:

Making Progress

I have been making progress with my 12 by 2012 goals and enjoying so far!  Azul and Glacier love me for it.  I've been so busy with school this semester it's good to get out into the fall weather and take some time to just breath.

Love this picture and quote.

12 by 2012

Danni, over at oh, hello friend started this 12 before 2012 project.  I jumped on this bandwagon.  My dear friends that followed my other blog know I had some goals for this past summer and I must say I did not succeed.  But I declare to you I will have victory with these goals.

Here they are:
MY 12 before 2012!

1. Get this new blog up and running.  I just started a fresh!
2.  Make regular blog posts (At least a couple times a week).
3.  Get my My Etsy Shop organized and going.
4.  Make a card collection for my shop.
5.  Learn to cook and bake some amazing food that is gluten, dairy, egg, soy, nut, and shellfish free (Yes I am allergic most all food... uggh).
6.  Loose 10 pounds (Yep, for real).
7. Do a five year wedding anniversary photo shoot.  The real goal may be to convince my husband to participate in this... lol.
8. Spend more time with my beautiful dogs.  They deserve it.
9. Have an adventure I'll never forget with my husband.
10.  Clean and organize the basement (I like throwing things away, it's therapeutic).
11.  Put my clothes away on a regular basis.
12.  Laugh more.

..... and only 79 days to go.
Who's with me?

Introducing... My Etsy Shop!

I FINALLY got my shop started!  Go check it out at:

I've Moved!

For those of you who were following me at my old blog, thanks for making the move with me!  I had to re-name my blog in attempts to brand my new business with my new etsy shop (coming soon).  You will continue to see changes on here until I get everything finalized but was anxious to get up and blogging again.
Azul and Glacier are still so very wonderful!
It's good to be back!
