I found this genius idea to get my necklaces organized from
and I thought I'd give it a go.
1. You will need a flat board to attach your knobs unto. You can be creative with this. For my board I'm using a piece of driftwood that I found at this beach on this trip.
I got 4 out of my 5 knobs from our local habitat for humanity store for less than $1.00.
2. Measure and drill the holes for your knobs.
3. Attach your knobs to the board using the already drilled holes.
4. Attach the finished project to the wall and hang your necklaces!
and now my necklaces are officially organized!
See how I organized my earrings here.

WonderfuL! I've seen this idea on Pinterest too. I have a lot of necklaces, so I've been putting off doing something cute with them like this. I think I'd need about 12 knobs to keep them all from getting tangled together. Happy new year to you!

ReplyDeleteI want to make this for my daughter, but I need to know what you put on the back to attach it to the wall and where I might find some interesting knobs. thanks for your help. armitage 923 at yahoo dot com.
ReplyDeleteYou can use saw-tooth hangers for the back or even use a string of some sort attached to each end and hang it on a nail or hook. I found my knobs at the local Habitat for Humanity store. You could probably find some good ones at flea markets also!
DeleteHow did you hang it on the wall? :)
ReplyDeleteI used a form of saw-tooth hangers on the back to hang it.
Deletehow did you attach the knobs? did you screw them in from behind?
ReplyDeleteYes
Deletethat's a really good idea !
ReplyDeleteI done an article an my blog about you here : http://modeuse-timbree.blogspot.fr/2012/08/diy-9.html
See ya !!!
Thank You!
DeleteI'm all ready to make a couple of these as Christmas gifts, but as I'm looking at the knobs I got, I realize that they will stick out on the back so it won't hang flush to the wall. Did you have that problem? I can saw wood (poorly), but this is metal! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Keallie,
DeleteI used the knobs with the screw head on the back so it was flush with the wood. The knobs screwed in from the back to the front (into the knob) so I didn't have to cut off the extra metal. Hope that helps!
I love your idea! I'm gonna post it in my blogs, with other similars ideas!

ReplyDeleteNice idea to arrange necklaces. When you don't use them you can just hang them on the holder. It's practical and does even look nice.
