The Fall Bucket List

I really love fall.
The Fall Bucket list has been popping up around the web and I'm considering doing it just to document everything I love about the season.
You can even join in on Instagram.

If you are looking for awesome DIY ideas for autumn or just apple orchard or pumpkin patch love, go here.

Do you think you will join in doing the Fall Bucket List?

It's Official

This is my fist leaf I saw fall to the ground this season taken on 9.15.12.  Last year I completely missed the Fall season since I was so busy with school, work, and my internship.  I never saw the light of day.  But this year I surely won't miss it.

DIY for my Mom

For my mom's birthday I decided to try out the latest DIY floating around on Pinterest.
My mom likes her some coffee so I hand drew these mugs for her.
I got some inexpensive coffee cups at The Christmas Tree Shop and used a black magic marker to draw on them.
The first cup says "Good Morning Mom, Love you" and is decorated with some flowers and a bird.
On the second cup I drew a picture of a coffee cup (how ironic) and on the reverse side it says, "Today's Coffee Tally" and there are some tally marks.
I ended up baking the cups two separate times for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.  I had to do this twice because after the first, I really tested how permanent is was by trying to scratch it off.  I was able to make a small scratch in an area that I colored in  so I touched it up and baked them a second time.  Now, I'm confident that it is permanent if hand washed only.
I got my tag from here.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Date Night

We didn't travel all too far for our (newly proclaimed) weekly date night.  We found ourselves at our most favorite beach we have found in New England, Napatree Point.

We did things like having throwing contests, skipping rocks, and comparing our footprints in the sand.  We almost ventured to the end to try to find the fort ruins but our hunger beat out our curiosity.
You can see more of this beach here and here.

We ended up eating here and can't wait to bring my seafood loving parents from WI there when they visit next.

Total Date Cost:  $46.31

Dog Days: Azul Unleashed

Azul is a dog of routine.  When one of us gets home in the afternoon, we immediately bring him (along with Glacier) out and then feed them dinner.  If he isn't fed, he will sure let us know by talking to us, which usually involves some howling and growling.  Lately we haven't been feeding him and letting him throw his little fits so we can take him out on some walks without a leash.  Food is his great motivator so if he is hungry, we reason, he won't run too far from home, and he is a runner.
So far our plan has worked.  He hasn't traveled too far from us.
Glacier  never leaves our side so he rarely gets leashed.  He stays busy chasing acorns we throw for him.
In case you didn't find him....

See more of Azul and Glacier here.
